I guess best in a case like this is if the suspect keeps claiming innocence yet is deemed dangerous you should have empathic people/empaths live around her for a time to get some indication of how (emotionally) stable she is and what type of person she is.
Instead of the current prison system this should also be the case for convicted people, the put away in a prison system that our societies use doesn’t work.
Punishment should be focussed on getting to know the individual and trying to make sure that she doesn’t repeat the crime or another crime, either by improving their character and or putting them in a better environment and or making it roughly impossible to commit such crimes. (aka living away from potential victims on some prison island etc)
